Baby Japanese Maple Leaves

This is the first time I have noticed this tree blossoming in this way and its delicate little leaves unfurling... I think it is two years old, but maybe it is only one year old! Post-processing mostly just to desaturate and brighten, but purposely took photo against the white background.

I love these two most of all.

This one I include because it shows what I think to be the "flower". I may have to do some Internet searching, though.

Project Angiospermae

This is a blog dedicated to my dual loves of all beauty in nature and photography, with particular focus on flowering plants that we do not normally think of in that way. Inspired by gardening and the discovery of collard and arugula flowers, which engendered closer investigation of all of the plants around me. Taking over the CEO role of our lawn fits right in with the rest - rediscovering my biology roots with a botanical-photographic look at the beauty of plants all around us.

As always, I also am working to improve my photographic "seeing" and technical know-how. Always practicing!!
